Moses Lake

lakesideBefore slowing our pace in Missoula for three days, we treated ourselves halfway there to a night at a trucker’s motel in a faithful town called Moses Lake. Here, aside from stepping out for a short walk to see the nearby lake reflecting the setting sun, we needed to give some attention to the Truck. Actually, it was the veggie oil system that was out of order. We were continuously blowing out fuses in the pump that we use to pull oil from restaurant bins and then to fill our tank with. Jon went to work as Inspector Gadget, and after blowing about three additional fuses he found some crossed wires! Picking up another fuse, the pump was working again and more oil was filtered into the tank for tomorrow’s drive.

Leaving Gainesville, we boogied down to Clearwater to visit with Jon’s mom and sister, Jamie, and boyfriend, Joey… and 18th month old niece who we would be meeting for the first time! It was very exciting to pull up to Jamie’s house and immediately we were greeted by a beautiful little girl with outstretched arms wanting to be held… We have been so excited to meet Bella and especially excited to see her mommy and gammy, since it has been over 2 years since our last meeting. We set up in the spare bedroom and were ready to hang out for the week. Continue reading

Asheville

After moving south from the hills of Hillsville and the festivities of Merlefest, we left a trail of hats behind us and headed to Asheville. We were to spend the next 4 nights couch surfing. Our friend Mark, who we met through our friend Jeff, set us up to stay with his friend Rob in Asheville. Friends of friends, we are loving how these things work out, to see how people can be so kind, sharing their home, providing a bed, a couch, a shower, a meal, and so on. Mark, an incredible artist, informed us that Rob is also an artist. Continue reading
